Double Overhand or Blood Knot

After making the fiador knot so easily (with our Rope Halter Jig) you may find yourself frustrated with the Double Overhand or Blood Knot. Don't give up. It's not an easy knot (though it SHOULD be) but you will master it. Look at the instructions provided with your chosen method, and if you can't "see it" check out these two videos. Both of them helped us have the "ah ha moment" and the funny thing is, both are different.

So we offer a look at both methods for your benefit.

Another look with a different approach

Here's a link to Halter Tying Success ($34 from HOS Books) one of the best books on the subject of Rope Halter making. In the sample chapter online, she shows you how to work the Blood knot. Yet ANOTHER version. A good one for sure, but you'll be surprised how many ways there are to study the making of the double overhand knot. One of them is surely to help you.

When you buy our JIG, or download our FREE ebook on How to Make a Rope Halter you'll get printed instructions and a DVD companion that will show you yet another similar but different way to look at it. We've found them all to be helpful.
